The Story
In 1798, when Ireland was on fire, Mary Brennan did what her mother had done before her - she opened her door to the neighbours. They came for shelter, then for music, then for the craic. They never stopped coming.
Seven generations of Brennans have stood behind this bar. The flagstones are worn smooth by two centuries of boots. The fire hasn't gone out from October to April in living memory. The snug still has its original etched glass.
A rambling house was never about the drink. It was about the gathering - the place where stories were told, songs were sung, and the parish came together. We just happen to serve a decent pint while that's going on.
